I go to EastCoast Suspensions at Sutherland.
Dave works on many road and competition cars ( including Jim Richards Porsches amongst others) , has a few BMWs himself including a 1er (an ex celebrity GP racer) , and has put some KW kits on 135i's. I have known him for over 25 years. Does that make me biased? |

Spinning Wheel in Waterloo (clean workshop, experienced guys, work on high end cars)
Tyresome in Darlinghurst (setup a lot of the guys cars for Burrows days, many friends recommended to me but not tried them) East Coast (Not tried but about to pop in for some setup work on my Audi. Heard Dave knows his stuff but be prepared to pay for every minute spent on the car (even if they are fixing their own mistakes)) Spinning Wheels workshop (don't have pics of any of the others!): |

Taka, in the front i believe only the toe and the rear is fully adjustible. think im right but happy to be corrected. Ok so brought the car to heasmans and doug said there is nothing he could do. Brought it into spinning wheel and they were able to correct it somewhat. from camber and caster were out, but due to the limitation in adjustment in the front he wasnt able to fix it perfectly... sigh.. now thinking of getting some camber/caster plates.. |

ya. you would think so... but when i brought it into bmw sydney (artarmon) they said that my car would require a alignment and it would cost me $260+gst They also told me they didnt have the equipment to do the alignment as well.... sigh so why bother offering to align the car.. on the upside though, the oil and filter was cheap... well relatively. |

Thats a load of BS from them.
If the car came that way from Germany with the alignment not 100% they should be correcting under warranty.. I would be going back there and sticking it up them mate..Thet are trying to pull the wool over your eyes. |

Unless it is way out - it is hard to see why BMW will pay under warranty. ~$300 per alignment I will do it for you - that is obscene pricing!

Regardless how way out the alignment is Taka, if your car is pulling to one side and its straight out of the showroom, there is no reason why it shouldnt be covered by warranty IMO.

That's what I told minijet!!! Hopefully he'll listen to other BMW 1-series owners, as I'm just a lowly Golf GTI owner....

If you want professional racing stuff alignment in Melbourne, give Stuckey tyre in Melbourne a go, if the technician is still the same one. Mark Donellan is pretty good with his skill too in Box Hill Donellans

sigh. even if its fixed by warranty, how does bmw expect people to fix the alignment when there is only minimal adjustment allowed?? especially when tyres are 600ish.... |

Had alignement done on my 130i by BMW Artamon recently as DTC has started playing up (apparently wheels weren't aligned and this was confusing the steering angle sensor).
Cost me $400 odd and the car now pulls to the left. To top it off they were unable to provide info on the settings to confirm how much camber/toe has been dialed in. My advice (based on above experience :wink do no get alignment done by BMW. |
