JB3 stock 1/4 mile
I am in the process of buying a JB3. I was wondering what you guy think I should expect out of a 1/4 mile.
This sumer I ran 13.2 with a SS/TT. This time Around I would have brand new tires (better 60'), BMW catback, JB3. I am asking this to see if its really worth 600$ for this modd. I want to buy the PNP as I am afraid of F$#% something up with the pins... |

lmao is jb3 really worth the $600??
try putting $600 into a civic or even a mustang and compare the power gains... jb3 is the best $600 you will ever spend...

There is no other item that even comes close to the impact the JB3 makes on the cars performance for the money... and if you go with the pinout over the PNP the cost to performance gains are truly ridiculous...I mean 379 bucks will transform your car into a beast... I went with the PNP for the same reason you said... I was afraid of screwing it up... but after doing the install I now realize I cld hve done the pinout and saved money...

Someone just ran 11.83 @ 117.9 on JB3, drag radials, and race gas.
No other mods. This is unusually fast, but the tune is indubitably worth it.

Bought the JB3 with the clutch delay valve guys. Go vote on my tire thread. I am hoping to hit at least 12's. I consider myself a good driver, but I don't want to get my expectations to high and get disapointed.
Keep your comments coming on what you guys think I should expect with just this modd. |

I will be trying my luck at the 1/4 mile within 2 weeks. All I have done is a ECU reflash + 14psi instead of the standard 9. I have no JB3 or exhaust or intakes etc. I am hoping for a mid 13 run at least because this will be my first pass at the 1/4 in my car. as mentioned above I dont want to get my hopes up just incase I choke on the start. I have an auto by the way. curious to know what combo you guys used when you ran it, such as traction all the way off, all on or DTC and did you launch? I feel that my car is quicker when I step on the brake and the gas and releaseat about 2500. any info that will assist my time would be great

I'm not sure which car that was--Hotrod has had a few different E90/E92's if I remember correctly. One of them was a VERY fast stock car. Like a "ringer" or something. He was running times stock that other people with mods were running.
Just luck of the draw I think--some cars are especially strong from the factory, and some are weak. I have seen dyno's as low as 260 WHP stock compared to as high as 285. Just depends. Back to the OP--the JB3 is no doubt worth every penny. The PnP makes the install very easy, even for a mechanical moron like myself. I am not into dyno's and 1/4 mile times, but believe me, the car is a whole other animal with Terry's product.

there are detailed diy's out there and as long as you go slow you'll be fine. Its basically just pull the wire, place open end into female connector of JB3 to close the circuit, put the male conector of the JB3 into the empty slot, repeat... |
