Removing Gum on Leatherette
I have some chips of dried gum on my black leatherette back seats. I picked off what I could, but some stuff stubbornly remains on there. What can I use to remove and clean it once and for all?
I hear goo-gone spray is a bad idea for leatherette, so any other suggestions? Thanks.

goo-gone is powerful stuff and will eat though paint, skin and just about everything else. Goof-off may work and is safe for paint and skin so it may be okay for leatherette.

You are correct. I messed up and got them mixed up. Goof Off is the nasty stuff that comes in a metal can. That is the stuff to be careful with. Goo Gone is safe for paint and other stuff.

Thanks, guys! I ended up taking it by a detailing shop to get a quote for an interior detail. Then they proceeded to remove the gum for free within a minute with their secret solution. They also said goo-gone is bad stuff and to never use it around a car...
