Passing inspection with window tint

Hey guys I need to do an inspection for my 1 series in the next week or so. I have 50% all around. I live in NJ so anything in the front is illegal.

Anyone in Northern NJ know how I can get my front 50% tint passed?

I believe this guy In central Jersey Near edison at a gas station will do it for you. It's in edison on oak grove ave.

How do you know he will do it? Did you or a friend do it through him? Also how much is it for him to do my inspection? Thanks.

Also I know 50% are pretty light any chance the DMW might overlook it and pass me. If they don't and fail me does it go on some record or something where even if a gas station were to pass me would the DMW want to check out my car again.

I mean if going to the DMW will be a free shot at maybe them over looking it and with no consequences then I might give that a try

A friend has done it before over there, I believe it's 50 bucks ? not 100% sure man, just go he probably won't even notice it. OR even if you go to any gas station they WILL overlook it as factory tint. Don't go that far i'd try a gas station that does inspections first or the DMV. DMV may test the window, but gas station will not if they can't directly see it.

come on people everyone knows u roll them shits down before you go in, they never roll it up believe me ive done it before in my bfs jetta and they let us get right thru u should b fine, if anything theyll fail u, y is ur oner need to be inspected anyways?

not necessarily, i tried that with my range rover that has 15% tint all around :P Didn't work out hahahah

Bought it from a private party and it has the tints on it already. I was going to do 50% all around anyway after i got the car but it had them on it already and I actually really like the way they look.

But yeah so thats why I have to get an inspection. The tints were legal in the state the seller was in.

I'd say try a bunch of different gas stations that offer inspections. Most seriously don't care. If you get rejected from one, just go to a different one. Try to be very courteous and even chat up the guys there, ask if they do parts installs and stuff for parts you don't even have. You know.. get on their good side so they don't even have a reason to fail you because they if they're not being checked up on, they generally don't care how legal you are before passing you. Don't do it at the DMV though because they're always sticklers.. I wish I knew of anywhere in particular to tell you, but I can't tell you how many times i've seen dubious gas station inspection places that i just think to myself "gotta remember that one if I ever decide to tint".

I used to work at a gas station and most stations dont care about tints. If you want the guy i used to work for will do it, btw its in cranford.
