Berk Technology Announces 2010 Sponsors!
Sponsors are a major part of motorsports from the grassroots levels on up. Without sponsors, almost all of the teams competing in your favorite form of motorsports would not be out there. The Berk Technology Race Team and our Time Attack BMW 135i are no exception, but we are fortunate enough to have an amazing roster of companies that help us do what we need to do each and every year and for that we are forever grateful. This is why we are extremely proud to announce our official list of sponsors for the 2010 time attack racing season! Berk Technology: The BMW 135i will feature Berk Technology’s own down pipes, mid pipes, and race exhaust system. APEX Wheels: The BMW 135i will feature their new ARC-8 track wheels. KW Suspension: The BMW 135i will feature custom valved KW Clubsport coilovers. OS Giken: The BMW 135i will feature the OS Super Lock Limited Slip Differential AEM: The BMW 135i will feature their HD Water/Methanol Injection Kit GIAC: The BMW 135i will feature a custom ECU tune by GIAC. APR Performance: The BMW 135i will feature a custom carbon fiber front splitter and their new 135i specific GTC-200 carbon fiber rear wing with gurney flap and 2.5” risers. SEIBON Carbon: The BMW 135i will feature their new OEM style carbon fiber hood and trunk lid. VFiber: The BMW 135i will feature their Signature Style front air dam and side skirts. Rotora: The BMW 135i will feature their 335mm 6 piston front brake kit. Vivid Racing: The Berk Technology Team will be running various parts purchased through Vivid Racing. DRIFTENVY Clothing: The Berk Technology Team will be outfitted in DRIFTENVY gear. Of course, we are always looking for new sponsors that we can promote, test products for, and work with. If you are interested in adding your company to that list, please contact our Motorsports Marketing Manager at mike@bonannimotorsports.com.

Mike, just curious, what caused the change from Burger tuning to GIAC? just financial sponsorship or other elements involved.
always fascinated on how this stuff works.

To be quite honest, I am new to the Euro/BMW scene so I am not sure if one is more capable than the other so I can't say if that is the reason or not. That deal was worked out between Bryan and GIAC so I personally don't know all of the details. What I can say though is that most of the time a sponsor change is 100% business. It is VERY expensive to run a season of time attack so when push comes to shove teams must choose the sponsor that provides the greatest benefit to the team.

The OS Giken diff isn't installed yet. It is a clutch type diff that is more of a street/race LSD. I've driven plenty of cars with clutch type diffs and they are perfect for the type of racing we are doing. Review will follow after install!
OS Giken is widely available from performance shops. Just go to their dealer page. We have switched over to GIAC this year so that we can take advantage of our AEM Meth injection and GIAC's custom mapping on the dyno. Nothing wrong with our Burger JB3 setup, we used it successfully for 2 years and set numerous 135i track records with it. With a GIAC tune we'll be able to make over 400whp on meth and hopefully break our own records at all of the events this year. |
