Driving schools/courses?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a local driving course? I know about the bmw M performance driving school in SC but was looking for something closer by and more affordable. i recall seeing a thread sometimes ago about a course around NoVa that you can go for some classroom plus track time instruction for a few hundred bucks?? Any suggestions? thanks.

Check out your local BMWCCA autocross meets or even track days. I think they are much more affordable. There are numerous threads on this forum that talk about BMWCCA organized events.

The National Capital and the NJ Chapters of the BMW CCA run very good courses. Check them out on the net. Summit Point, WV and VIR are both close to you.

I agree with what these guys say about the BMW CCA chapter HPDE's (High Performance Driving Events). They are amazing. Also look at NASA's HPDE's. If you are in VA, definitely go to VIR, Summit Point, and check out how far it is to Pocono and NJMP. If you have any trouble finding this stuff, shoot me a PM. I'll find the links for you.

just to let everyone know, we will hold 3 HPDE this year at Summit Point. However, the best news is that we've dropped the price, $200/day or less, depending on what course at SP.

this will be a great year for our driving schools, and they fill up very quickly. We offer classroom learning, top notch driving instructors, and lots of seat time!!!!

hope to see some of you out there this year

Anybody know when/if the NJ chapter is doing the "Advanced School" at Summit this year?

Searched the NJ Chapter website and yes, they're doing the May Advanced Driving School again. Advanced drivers, you should do this! Awesome amounts of track time and good folks.
