Just picked up my new 2010 128i *pics & stuff*

First brand-new car that I have ever owned! Picked up my 2010 128i tonight (6speed / Sport Package / Premium Audio / HID / iPod / Moonroof / Keyless / Alarm / ETC). Got a fantastic deal on it as a 2010 model, cant wait to start autocrossing in a couple weeks!

Back home in my garage, time for first mod!

Ta-da! Mtec H8's installed.

Couldn't be happier with my purchase right now. Going to take a bit of getting use to driving it though - previous card was an S2000 and Integra!

They are plug and play, but I have to admit they are a pain in the ass to install. The clips that hold the headlight housing covers on are really annoying (two on each side). I ended up using a ratchet handle for leverage to get them undone (and was very worried about breaking something).

Passenger side was not all that bad, but driver side was horrid. I took off the entire plastic intake / resonator / air-box to get it done easier. In the past I have spent much less time and frustration taking the font suspension off one of my Honda's! Welcome to German cars I guess.

funny you say that, for me it was the complete opposite, the drivers side was so easy, took literally 3 min to do, while the passangers side was a pain, took me close to 20 min to get the cover back on

The H8 bulbs are a lot harder to install on the 128i due to the airbox setup in comparison to the 135i airbox setup

I think that the 135i's must have more "stuff" on the passenger side. Driver side was brutal with me, the stupid airbox left no clearance.

Interesting, that may explain it. I thought I was going nuts with all the posts that I read saying that Drivers Side is a breeze.
