Which one to take to Big Bear?
I know this is such a inexperienced question but this is the first time I go snowboarding (tourist!). So I am deciding which car to take up there.
The options I have are: Infiniti FX35, 370Z (19 wheel), and last but not least, the M3 (with 18 wheel). Considering everything is stock and cars will be equipped with snow chains, which car will you recommend to take? I am actually thinking about the FX but my girl wants to take the Z...idk... |

just for the practicality end of it, i'd take the FX...
for the fun factor, Z or M3... do you have all-seasons or summer tires on them? all-seasons are somewhat OK in the snow (before you put the chains on), summers are useless... that should be your biggest decision factor... having said that, i went skiing 2 weeks ago with my convertible, winter tires and ski rack on the trunk, so anything is possible !! |

The M3 would probably be the worst choice if you have the OEM tires on.

Assuming it's not snowing take whatever you don't mind getting dirty.

Any of the cars will be fine, even the Z if you're renting. I'd take the Z or M3 to enjoy the drive up. No chains are required at the moment and stock tires are fine, even summer tires. In southern california, the M3 and Z should always have summer tires....really no need for anything else unless you want better treadwear.
I've actually taking a Z and M3 to the mountains plenty of times (bear or Mt high). If I'm going solo, I'd actually prefer the Z for gas mileage. |
