Ideas Needed for a Long Weekend in SoCal

My girlfriend and I are coming to LA next week from Thursday to Sunday for a long weekend before a conference I'll be attending the week after.

We were hoping to get out and do some relaxing. Maybe get out to some wine country. I don't know what's within reasonable driving distance from LA though. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If your into wine and wine tasting I live in a town called Solvang. Its a huge wine area the Chumash Casino is also here as well. Its a cool little town perfect for couples get aways.

This is a good getaway place, nice wine area around Solvang and north of Santa Barbara. Fun driving roads if you have your own car. Really a lovely area.

I would highly reccomend Santa Barbara or Laguna. No wineries in Laguna but it's super nice, high end, and close to Newport in case you need some more action.

Santa Barbara is absolutly gorgeous and some pretty good wineries within a 15-20 min drive of the city. if you go to SB, and have the means, stay at the Four Seasons Biltmore or Bacara.

Santa Barbara and the surounding area would make for a great weekend.
Great wineries, great restaurants, nice back country roads.
You have to eat at the Los Olivos Cafe at least once.

+1 For Santa Ynez wine country. We've been going there for years. Excellent wineries including Babcock, Foxen and Hitching Post. Fun back country roads with a great drive along Lake Cachuma. We like Hotel Corque which is convenient to town.

if you're going to hit up Temecula, you might as well go a little more south and visit the San Diego area as well. I heart SD

Thanks again for all the info. We're booked at a B&B in Santa Barbara. I'm pumped! Looks like the weather will be decent. Much warmer than here in Denver. -2 Degrees right now.

I want to try and check out Solvang one day if possible. If anyone has any suggestions on restaurants, wineries or other activities in the area, I'm all ears. We have nothing planned at this point. I'm looking into Babcock, Foxen and Hitching Post.
