Bad night.
I'll let pictures speak for themselves, I posted in OT, don't feel like typing again. Lots of physical and emotional pain. I'll let the pictures speak.
[no drugs alcohol or any of the sort involved] Basically lost control getting onto service road [DSC and DTC were on because I recently got an alignment and the shop did something, normally don't drive this way] car fish tailed hard left, I thought I regained contorl, suddenly it fishtailed HARD right I did 180 into concrete pole. I'm ok, hurts bad, but it's not supposed to tickle. No one else was involved thank god. Biggest bummer is I won't be getting into another 135i. Looks like next will be either older z4 or m coupe / roadster, 328 coupe, or x3, real undecided. Even thought about reliable truck and a e30 325e |

Bummer. At least your OK.
Just curious, have you had a recent software update? I had one a couple of months ago as part of the HPFP fix and I've noticed that my rear sometimes kicks out when I take a turn aggressively, even though DSC is full on (no DTC). Never noticed that before the software upgrade. |

That sucks dude, glad you are alright. Crazy that you spun out so easily even with the DSC and DTC on. Were the roads wet at all? Also, did you have winter tires on it? I heard its easier to break them loose.
Not to bash on you, so please dont take this the wrong way, but I must drive like a grandpa cuz I can never get the tires to break loose on this car, unless Im really trying to. |

Scary. Sometimes I take corners faster than I should thinking "The DSC/DTC will save me if I go a little too far" .... me thinks I won't be so nonchalant about it from now on.

Just to clear this up the DTC and DSC were NOT working. They were not off, they had malfunctioned when I got the car aligned. Caused a great deal of confusion in OT. Had DTC and DSC been working this would not of happened. I do not drive with them off normally [or on which ever means the car slides more]

Yes, haven't thought of taking to court. Instance would of been prevented had it been working, on the flip side, I work 60+ hours a week and it's hard to make it across town to get to BMW of Dallas so I was slacking getting the problem taken care of. I couldn't in good faith taken them [NTB] to court when I'm equally at fault.
I will call and tell them what happened so they could be more careful in the future. |

Damn ... this might be repetitive but must say truly glad your OK. Thats a serious concrete pole. When I read the part before the pictures I thought it was one of those poles found in front of gas pumps. You walked away from a concrete column.
If you haven't already make sure you go get a medical check. Sometimes in these type of crashes where there are large amounts of Gs on contact, you are prone to internal damage. Hope you feel better soon, and good luck with the rest of the clutter.

If the dealer knew about the problem it should have been a case of we can't release the car to you as it's not safe/not roadworthy perhaps? Only releasing it when it's fixed or you sign a waiver.
Glad you are ok, looks horrific. |
