Installing iCarbon Trunk

Anyone know how to remove these things on the stock trunk??? They were the only thing that I was unable to get off. The CF trunk works fine without them, but I think they help support the trunk when closed and raise/lower the height. Also, it took about 3 hours to do, and it is possible to do alone.

From my 335 experience, These essentially pop out. My suggestion is to just buy a new set as the plastic is easy to break, and if you ever have to remove them from your CF trunk it will be tough to do without cracking the mounting hole.

i used flat screwdriver to pop them out. Its not easy, so you have to use a lot of pressure.

get the camel toe tool. Not sure what it's called... That's what I refer to it as.

Why not just order two new ones thru your local dealer?

Camel toe tool... haha!! I think I may just order some from real OEM. However, it has been almost two weeks and it doesn't seem to make a difference not having them on the CF trunk... so i dunno

There are two pieces, one on either side, that are pushed out with a ice pick or a similar tool. They are about 1/4" wide and once those are removed it comes right out.

Also you arent using struts on your trunk are you?

I tried to push those things out, but could not get at them good enough to put any force on them.

No struts at all. Trunk pops, stays open on its own, and closes just fine.

No tennis ball flinging for me!! lol

Ah, finally got them out and installed on the new trunk. It was actually very easy. There are two little push pins that you can push in with a small tool, but make sure your hand is on the other side to catch the small pin. Then when you install it, just push the pins back in. Easy.
