mpg?

What kind of mpg do you guys get and what ECU firmware do you have and what are your mods and how hard do you drive and what is your transmission?

I'm on the first firmware, first HPFP, cobb OTS stage 1 v202, A6, I generally don't get over 3000 rpm, but i drive 2 miles to work and back daily, half highway half 30mph stop sign to stop sign, and i get 15.1

Seems pretty terrible to me.....

I have a 2012 135 DCT. I get around 17mpg city driving. Lots of stop and go. Only performance mod is the BMW Performance exhaust. I'd say your getting average mpg for what you have (mods) and your driving. My 2011 GTI got worse mpg than my 135 and I actually "drive" my car.

I average 22mpg with a mix of very limited highway, mostly city and country roads(a lot of on and off throttle twisties.) But I averaged 30mpg in my APR stage 1 06 GLI, but idc the fun is worth it

With canyon runs a lot and pinning it everywhere like a douche bag, I get about 18-19.

My daily commute is about 21.5mpg which is a short and mostly city drive, but about 30% is a stretch where I can hold a steady ~50mph.

I took a long trip recently and averaged 25.8 for the entire trip (5 hours each way, some limited city driving). It was almost all highway, some parts ~60-65mph, some closer to 75-80mph.

I went to an autocross with an hour drive before and after @ about 65mph (instantaneous is ~30-31mpg) and got an average of 16.8 including the two hour round trip drive and twelve ~51 second autocross runs.

I've noticed significantly better mileage at ~65mph vs. 75+mph on the instantaneous display. like 30-31 vs. 25-27. Mileage tanks (get it?) very fast after 65mph or so. 6th gear doesn't seem to be long enough.

Commuting every day with mostly freeway and some errands on the weekends I'm getting ~22. No mods to the drivetrain.

I got an 09 AT 135 with COBB and I get on it pretty hard sometimes, mostly in the city driving and I am averaging 21 mpg.

You seriously drive two miles to work? Ever consider walking/running or cycling? Or even a moped? That gas mileage is typical for a cold engine. I can't believe you drive your car two miles to get to work... That is hell on your car.

I get about 23 +-5% depending on quality of gas/temps/how I drive. Mods: Cobb AP 91 v202, 3" catless DPs, cp-e midpipes into a custom quad outlet axelback, Spearco (Dinan) FMIC, Tial BOV, DCI, Spec stg3 clutch and lightweight flywheel, CDV delete. It's also lowered and has the BMW performance rear spoiler. I'm sure those last two have some sort of impact, however minimal, on gas mileage. I usually see 28 +-3% on long highway trips.

I average about 23-25mpg mostly highway for school. Mods are JB4 on map 2, catless downpipes and Helix FMIC.

This might sound crazy but I get my best gas mileage if I cruise between 75-80mph. I got about 28-30mpg this morning.

I agree 100% Why don't you get a nice commuter or fixie?

Latest firmware, 50/50 highway / suburban stop and go traffic, NYC once in a while but rarely (take the bus in). Mods that COULD be relevant: DCI, catback exhaust, jb4. steptronic.

i had a solid 22.9 for the longest time, then i disconnected my battery over the weekend to take some stuff out for bringing my car into the stealership.

now, after the dealership and with my only driving this week being very weird commuting (anyone who knows rt 23 in NJ knows it's a highway with stoplights. stopped, then 60 mph. then stopped. then 60 again, etc) i'm getting about 19.5. I tend to floor it when I can, but people tend to also be in the way.

also, it's really bad to start your car, drive, then stop it cold day in and day out. don't do that to your bmw!

Thank you Phil! Might as well be honest. I drive this thing like it wants to be driven. However, one time I tried to get great gas mileage. From my house to Santa monica through malibu canyon and on the PCH, I got 34 MPG! Granted it's only about 30 miles but hey, 34 mpg from a 400hp car isn't bad.

I drive my car the same way. These cars are meant to be driven not babied.

Well, I would love to get above 20 mpg, but I am usually around 18-19. I dont commute since I work from home so I dont have long hwy miles just twice a month to the airport via local streets. Luv my Cobb

It's 3.5 miles each way sorry. Driving it takes 10-15 minutes in a car because I have to get on the highway and traffic. I never go more than 30% throttle until its at least 230f on the gauge.

3.5 miles is still close enough to cycle. Does your needle even move after ten minutes? It takes me driving about eight miles at a constant 55 to see mine budge.

i havent reset the average in months. i have a fully stock 08 135i AT and it reads 15.8 MPG . i drive like a complete idiot.

Yea it's been an avg of 103 here for the last 3 weeks. It is generally at operating temperature when I arrive at my destination.

So what is the optimal length of time necessary for your car to warm up properly?

I, like qdub, live very close to work and am worried about constant cold stops.
