RB Turbo's & Others
I dont understand the concept behind the bigger turbo's I dont understand why and how someone can boost there hp to 550 if the fuel injecters havent been improved wouldnt the stock fuel pump go out again & again how can you really get the most out of the bigger turbo's if the car cant transfer enough fuel to the engine to account for the added HP Has someone created aftermarket injecters I understand our cars are special and inject our fuel directly into the cylinders but whos gonna step up and create an aftermarket injecter ![]() |

Stock injectors are good to around 500whp with the right tuning. Check out N54tech or google the hpf intake prototype. There is at least 1 other company making an additional injector setup that fits between the head and the intake. Google will be your friend there, still in prototype Last I read...

As stated above 500-550WHP seems to be the limit with the stock injectors. I would like to see someone create an intake manifold with port injectors and a tuning solution to use in conjunction with the DI. This could solve the fueling problem and the carbon build up problem.

The turbos also hold the power all the way to redline and create more power at a lower boost level unlike our wimpy stock twins. The same reason that a big single makes much more power at x psi then small twins. More CFM

Up to 500 whp. I do believe that the best solution would be to combine the stock direct injection with port injection. Of course you would have to also find a way to tune it, but with this you can add more fuel, more boost (with upgraded turbo's), and the fuel coming from the port injection will help keep the intake valve's clean which is a problem with DI engines.

This is because the turbos are being run out of their efficency range at the higher boost levels. Upgraded turbos can achieve similar flow without being pushed out of efficiency range as quickly, thus leading to a flatter TQ curve out to redline RPMs. As others have already said, the fueling bottlneck is still beyond what can be gained from upgraded Turbos. Not to mention the auxiliary benefits of lower IATs with less boost for same power and less stress on the turbos to same end. ![]() |

Wow a bumch of misinformation, yiu guts should spend more time on e90post turbo section to get up to speed a bit...Injectors are a non limiting factor on the n54 at the moment..same injectors are used on ttv8 x5m that has been tuned to over 700hp...mr. 5 or RB aren't looking into this at all...mr. 5 sold his car, RB is busy with turbos...
Many of us including myself have made 500whp without bumping against this limit...we don't know exactly where the real hardware fuel "limit" is "yet" but it won't ne injectors first...LPFP is first as its rated by the manufacturer at only 90lph... |
