Fixing my icarbon lip....would you do this?
Recently my Icarbon lip broke during install, details are in this thread. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=552666 I have found a good shop that says they can install it and make it look the way it is supposed to. Their plan is to install it without repairing the broken piece and use an adhesive to attach it to the bumper and reinforce the center section. They said they may need to do some fitting and some slight trimming to get to fit correctly but they are confident they can get it done right. My biggest concern is that this a permanent attachment and if the lip ever cracks or breaks there will be no way remove it and I'd probably be looking at a new bumper. This is not going to be a cheap repair and it sucks to continue to invest money into this but I think it may be a better option than loosing all that cash I've already spent. The guys who are going to do the install definitely seem to know what they are doing. They work on a lot of high end cars with repeat customers and took the time to test fit the piece and explain my options. Who knows it may even end up fitting better this way. I guess I shouldn't worry but I am wondering if I should just give up on the lip and cut my losses. So what would you guys do? Would you pay to have it repaired/installed and hope it turns out? Or would you just cut your losses and walk away? Really I am just looking for some reassurance.
Thanks Wade

You are talking about another investment trying to fix a piece. Yes it is broken and may work... but when reselling the car you would have to identify a broken front lip (which no one likes and the fact that you can't take it off). I would buy a new one or just drop it and cut your losses and go for other mods

I followed your other thread, you like the lip, dropped the dime so work yourself out of the whole and get it done. Enjoy it.
Just be curb conscious.

there are CF shops that can do anything from minor cosmetic CF repairs to structural repairs. i'd look into this first. i haven't heard of much application to the automotive industry, but it's common in the cycling industry to have carbon fiber frames repaired. maybe one of those shops would be willing to fix it for you.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've decided I am going to go through with getting it repaired and installed. I should get scheduled to take it in on thurs. or Fri. I'll be sure to post some pictures after it is done.
