BMW Apps on 1M
Hi:
I just received my new 1M Coupe. Awesome car. However, I noticed that it didn't come with the BMW Apps ( Facebook, Pandora etc). What is the procedure to add this applications? Thanks, Everett |

My apps were removed from my order because there was a "problem" installing them. Apparently it's impossible to add them after the fact.
Maybe your dealer will have a different story? |

You don't forget anything on the order! That is unacceptable! I would get very angry if I don't get apps on mine! Its in my spec so if its not delivered I will give them a very hard time!

And what is it you would do? Cancelling the order and not taking delivery? As the cars sell like hot cakes I don't think that this will be a real threat to BMW ;-)))). In my case they just adjusted the price and "take it or leave it". It's all about business and money... BMW AG does not really give a sh.. about these things. But does that make me not wanting the car? Noooooo way... :-)

I had the same issue. My CA added it to my spec sheet, but somehow it got dropped. Hopefully we'll be able to add it at a later time.

I would say you should be able to demand that they just install it on your car if you ordered it and paid for it and they didn't put it in. It's only software after all, they should be able to do it in a few minutes.

Yes I would considering cancelling my order. I have a superb relationship with my BMW dealer so they would fix it. I could never imagine something like that happening. Either you did never have BMW apps in your spec or there is some US issue. Never heard of something like that from BMW in all years I have bought their cars. '
Its not a question if they can sell my car. They value some buyers and like I said 100% sure they would fix it. Stupid comment! If you dont get what you order no matter how hot the car is a good dealer would fix it for you. But maybe you dont have that relationship with your dealer... |

" Stupid comment...." there's a man who loves his dealer... Ummm.. what if it was " dropped" because BMW is having a problem getting it working? Get your dealer to fix that! |

Are there other options required in order to have BMW apps? So like I have a stripper car, can I take to the dealership and add 6NR?
I was a Blackberry user that just converted to iphone and regret not getting this option. |

The other cars they have sold at my dealer have BMW apps. Yes they work... So if someone at your dealer screw you because they did not order it... Well good for you...

First, you need the option installed. Presuming it is, I believe you also need the Apps Snapin for your phone (though I have heard it's possible to make it work without it... though I haven't confirmed that one myself).
Finally... and this is the step people seem to miss... install the "BMW Connected" app on your phone and either make sure it's running when you plug your iPhone in, or start it. Some people's phones seem to start it automatically when connected, but mine doesn't. No big deal; my iPhone has just been my iPod for a while now because I have a better phone anyway so I pretty much just leave "Connected" running HTH |

So you're saying you don't have navigation then? How are you expecting to use the apps with no nav?

I do not see that happening. The only thing you would be able to see is remaing fuel, milage etc. But e.g. facebook integration and the apple music interface you will not be able to use as this is operated through the nav screen and idrive. For this you need the cradle to put in the armrest by the way as well.

I'm not sure what you understand what the BMW Apps option really does. The whole purpose of the feature is to use the app on your phone and your phone's data connection to display "apps" on the nav screen. If you want to just play Pandora or the web radio stations in the BMW Connected app you can do that with just the iPod connectivity option.
