DCT Launch Control Question...
Can't seem to get it right... The owner's manual says the following:
Launch Control is ready for use when the engine is at operating temperature after uninterrupted travel of at least 6.2 miles/10 km. 1. With the engine running, step on the brake with your left foot. 2. Activate Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). Press the button; the indicator lamp for DSC OFF lights up and TRACTION is displayed in the instrument panel. 3. Activate Driving dynamics control. Press the SPORT button; the LED in the button lights up. 4. With the vehicle stationary, activate the manual mode and select 1st gear. 5. With your right foot, push the accelerator pedal past the resistance point. The engine speed for pulling away is adjusted. A flag symbol appears in the instrument cluster. 6. When you release the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates. Keep the accelerator pedal floored. 7. The upshifting occurs automatically as long as you keep the accelerator pedal pressed past the resistance point. Launch Control will be ready for use again after you drive a certain distance. For step 5 and 6 after you push the accelerator pedal past the resistance point and the flag symbol appears are you suppose to release the accelerator pedal up before you release the brake pedal? I kept the accelerator pedal past the resistance point the whole time and released the brake however the car did not launch... When I let the accelerator up a bit and then released the brake I guess it did? If anyone could please chime in it would be greatly appreciated

The car should be fully warmed up, or at least at operating temperature. Do the following:
1. Press DTC button 2. Press Sport button 3. Put the car in M1 using the paddle shifter and moving the lever to the left. 4. Press the brake and then the accelerator. A flag should be displayed in the cluster and revs should be maintained by the car at 3,500rpm ~ 5. Don't release the accelerator at any point. Release the brake pedal, and off you go. There is another type of launch control, but this one doesn't shows a flag. I discovered it one time by accident. Repeat all the steps above but fully disable traction control. The revs will go up to ~6,000 rpm and the car will launch like crazy. When you get to try it, make sure that no one is around and that you are in an open area.

it just kind of jerks a bit and doesn't really go... now if after the flag comes on and I release the accelerator up a bit where it's not pressed passed the resistance point then it will launch...

That's what I did but unless I release the gas pedal so that it's not beyond the resistance point before releasing the brake the car just jerks and doesn't go anywhere.

This works every time for me.
1. drive around 2. come to complete stop 3. keep break pressed down with left foot 4. press dtc once 5. tap shifter over to left 6. press sport button 7. press left paddle down so you're in M1 9. press right foot on gas all the way to the floor 10. yellow flag should appear in gauge cluster 11. release break and just steer in the right direction. I've found I have to do it in this order. If I do any one of those out of that order it will not work. |

Are you suppose to press it once or press and hold it? I just pressed it once. The flag comes on but it just doesn't go...
