Tinting Taillights
Does anyone have any experience or contact to share re: tinting taillights to change from orangy to smoked look? Whole unit each side. Not for e82, I have blacklines installed. Thanks

a fun exercise in getting a $110 fine and 1 point
looks awesome, but not worth it when blacklines are an option imo ED: you already have blacklines and they're not dark enough? not much you can do that's legal (well.. that you can PROVE is illegal) |

There's usually some lights on ebay with black backings As i said, regardless f car - any surface tinting will get you a defect from an officer who just had a bad day |

Highway patrol even tried to defect me for blacklines, I just laughed. I wouldn't recommend tinting tail lights in Australia AT ALL, pretty much just asking for a bill. |

VHT Nightshade. Just pick up a can from supercheap or repco.
Used it before on my track pig. Looked alright and did its job. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VHT-Nite-Sha...-/200777114624 |

That's what i used with a can of clear on top (really matte finish), then a wet sand and buff with scratch-x Came up looking pretty good, as shiny as the rest of the paint at least |

The old trick with nightshades to get a gloss look is to spray the insides of the lens.

then a huge PITA if an officer refuses protestations of 'but officer, it's meant to be like that, look it's not on the outside!' haha |

I've used Nightshades before.. can look OK, can sometimes (more often than not) look crap
Crappy result on my E92 tinting the red section and leaving the white: Better result on my Eclass tinting the white and leaving the red: |
