Anyone replace leaking oil cooler to housing seals?
anyone had to replace the seal that goes between the oil cooler and the oil filter housing? and im not talking about the between the housing and block, ive already replaced that one. it looks easy enough to do, im not exactly sure if I have to remove the two hex plugs at the top to take the line down to access the third bolt of the oil cooler? was just wondering if this challenged anyone, it looks a lot simpler than the oil filter housing gasket

No you do not need to take out the top hex bolts. Just the third from the underside and the lines will come free. Each line has an o ring on it it if that's what you are looking to replace.

So you are replacing part 5 gasket below? I have not replaced that, I just took the lines off to put an ER sports cooler on.
To go back to the original question, you just remove the third bolt from below that sits between the lines then they pop off. Then you should be able to get to your third bolt. Just make sure you have rags handy. |
