Hmm no havent done that.. Thanks for the quick reply... I just had a run with challenger srt8... Frm dead stop i was infront till 3rd gear ad then he passed due to my shifting error and he stayed a car length infront and didnt go away more... Each time i shifted the car died he came closer... We could have stayed ahead or side by side if the shifts were perfect...
More info on clutch stop would be much appreciated.. Is it a DIY? Any parts i should order? |

Edit: I see that you have a JB4 which should help close the difference. But I still think with perfect shifts, you'd be neck and neck. The faster you go, the more the SRT8 will close the gap. He has 470/470hp and tq to your 300/300, and even with the extra weight that his car has, its a tough one. Last edited by Ammonia; 08-20-2012 at 05:44 PM.. Reason: mods |

a lot of the vendors here sell the clutch delay valve and i believe there is a DIY to just punch out the center
as for the clutch stop, i got mine on ebay, i think they sell a couple different versions (adjustable vs. non)

are you sure you're not over revving and hitting the limiter?

Try removing the CDV. No need to buy one because you can punch out the middle and then replace it. You are probably also experiencing turbo lag. Install some catless DP's and it will reduce this dramatically. I have a Cobb tune and I have also noticed this in the past. The above 2 mentioned items will cause this and I also noticed that I will experience some lag if you hit the gas too soon after changing gears. I am not sure if it is lag or the clutch slipping. It might be both. |

What do you mean the car dies at every shift? If you mean hesitation or delayed throttle you are probably just experiencing normal throttle lag from these non-cable driven throttles.

1. See if this happens without JB4
2. If that still happens, take your car to the garage. I don't think turbo lag can explain this. The only time my car dies when shifting it's when traction control is cutting in and you can clearly see/feel that. |

I had this a few times when I first bought mine. Usually shifting very fast 3rd it would act like the DME would kick it halting all power for .5 second. It would be in the next gear, RPM's down and pedal floored but no power given out all and then instantly all the power was back. This happened when I was on Cobb Stage 1 but then warmer weather hit and I never noticed it again. I've also learned since then I don't need to rev it as high so maybe that had something to do with it.

+1 on the explanation. Car dies how? Try to be as descriptive as possible in regards to what it does. Sounds like normal lag or just a bad shift. The fact you were racing doesn't help either. I took on an M3 prior to DP on MAP-1 and I might as well have been foot-peddling like the Flintstones. In other words, it didn't feel as fast (sluggish). Try a few solo pulls and see what happens.
I recently change my CV and the shifts are faster. The clutch now engages with very light foot pressure/distance. http://www.burgertuning.com/bmscdv.html |

My 2-3 shift is where I always lose ground. In an MT you are losing boost so there is lag from spooling again, and I just feel like RPM wise it is not as nice as the 3-4 shift. I feel like you end up in lower RPM causing some bog.
Need to get no lift shift!!!!!!!!!

Definitely do the cdv. Then push and hold the traction control button for four seconds. Then look at any dyno readouts on our cars. The reason you are having this issue is because there is no more power being output at this rpm. you have passed your power band and thus "hit a brick wall" shift sooner, your tranny will thank you and your turbos will respool

Clutch slipping? Worn out spark plugs? Broken motor mount(s) or trans mount(s) ???
Maybe time to change your tranny fluid. Mine looked black after only 30K kms.

CDV will probably help, but this sounds like a common occurrence with manual transmission (especially with tune/jb4). Does it feel like the car has no power, or that its not boosting right after the shift? It sounds like bog after the shift.
Check what version JB4 you are running and check the settings. There is a parameter called "bogfix" designed specifically to help this issue. Check on n54tech.com or email burger for suggested settings. Also, you can try shifting a bit slower (sounds counterintuitive but may help). If this is not the issue, you could probably take a log and let someone diagnose the issue. Hope this helps, Tim
