ESS 1M Tune FTW!!!
ESS is fantastic IMO. I have their S/C on my M3 and have had ZERO issues in over 2 years. The 1M tune is via their handheld flasher and I can load the stock file back to the 1M at any time within minutes. The performance gains are significant and definitely noticed! With the ESS tune you can easily take down stock M3's!

I am running a German flash tune from MS Tuning. Here is my write up from last year. I could not be happier with my flash tune. No problems what so ever!

I was going to quickly answer that it was a poll on flash tunes -- not piggybacks like the Procede -- but then I noticed that Burger and JB4 (which are one and the same) was also listed and, like Procede, is a piggyback.
Seems a bit confused! Neil |

I have always had GIAC on my VAG and P cars and love it. No issues at all and great support. Since the 335i has more or less the same engine and wife just bought a 335iS, I am thinking about trying it out and take the advantage of their 30 day trial.

So to get back to the 1M, which "proper" flash tune seems to be the best available option for a stock 1M Coupe?
Not limiting to US tuners here - Kelleners, Dahler, Lightweight. Preferably a tuner with a handheld device that allows for getting back to the stock ECU quickly. @Biglare is running an ESS and seems to be pleased with it - he's also showing significant power gains with 390PS with a stock cooler. It's difficult to compare by just going to the tuner's websites. It would be good to have a proper comparison such as the autobild tuner comparison http://www.daehler.com/docs/Daehler_1erM_ABSC.pdf |

Are you thinking about flashing your 1M? I'm looking into the Akra exhausts and I see that you have the slip on with the maddad midpipes. Have you been able to compare with the full evo Akra setup? Any regrets? Any tips? |

Anyways, the handheld direct flash unit makes it a snap to change back to the stock tune within minutes if needed. I would not think of going with any other unit for my 1M at this point.
