I am glad that LM is in the team, because as you know they are doing very well. That's how the roulette wheel has spun, whether I was for Horner or not is besides the point now. Read my lips: Horner was cleared. You don't even know what happened exactly in Fionagate so again you are guessing siding with the 'weaker' sex as a matter of course.

Exactly. And there is literally nothing in the rules or regulations that allows you to put tape or take away tape. They were not fined for that but rather the person who entered the track. That level of gamesmanship is great and wish they would do more of it. They need to add a tape box in both directions becuase if Lando doesn’t have his “race by numbers” coloring book he’s just not able to do it.

Read my lips...my no respect for Horner started way before his stupid little c××k teasing texts with his personal secretary. It even goes back before Multi 21.

F1 TV journalist Vigneron (Belgium) confirmed again during the past COTA race weekend that according to his paddock sources, Laurent Mekies truly listens to Verstappen's suggestions, even to the point to overrule engineers seeing things sometimes differently. Verstappen usually proposes to let him at least try what he has in mind, even if engineers are skeptical. Under Horner, engineers ruled. Mekies offers Verstappen chances to give it a try. In the end, Verstappen – though no engineer – is the one who has to lap the circuit, with tons of experience about car dynamics and setup. And it already happened that it gave good results.

If he had stayed Max would have been fighting George Russell for 5th place and Lando and Oscar would be doing a 2 horse race for P1.

Exactly..
MAX is now almost weekly in the Red Bull factory and gets meetings with the Red Bull engineers.
MAX just says what he wants to change on the car. aka./ The MAX-setup .
From then on , and that was at Monza . MAX wins the QF's ,races and the sprint races.
Laurant Mekies : I've done nothing .It was MAX . I gave MAX permission to say exactly (track-specific)! what needs to be changed on the car.
MAX's specific feed back is gold (!)

What we witnessed was a complete turnaround ...

What we witnessed was a complete turnaround ...
Mekies about Verstappen after the Austin race:
“I think watching Max driving is watching history in the making… He surprises us every time he goes out on track, he surprises us on how much he's pushing us between a session and another, how much sensitivity he has in stuff that sometimes we can see and sometimes we cannot see.
“He has been investing himself so hard into supporting the team, supporting the project to get back to competitiveness.
“I'm sure then when you are actually starting to fight for this better position, I'm sure it brings even more out of him.
“Were McLaren really so far away or not, or are we going to have a wake-up call in Mexico? That's how we approach it.
“Of course, if you look at the string of results – second, first, first, second, first – then of course it's outstanding. It's a fantastic moment and everybody should be proud of it, especially the people you don't see, the ones that are back in the factory and we try to continue with that intensity.
“You know we don't separate Max and the car and the team. It's one group and, as we said, Max is not sitting outside of the project, watching the project, he's at the heart of the project.
“We do not feel we are in a dominant position, but we certainly feel that we have cancelled out a large part of the deficit we had in the first part of the season and now it's down to the last details.
“Don't get me wrong, even on a weekend like today there will be things we can learn, there will be things that we didn't get fully right and that's where our focus, that's where our intensity goes – analysing our data and challenging each other because that's what we do and getting the car in the best possible shape for Mexico.”

Yuki had a better COTA gamble setup , MAX's car was good but still it didn't felt right at that moment for MAX.
That's why they gave MAX the YUKI last minute setup and MAX won everything at COTA.
YUKI was hindered in the qualifying and was knocked out in QF2.
That was a big mistake from YUKI's race engineer (a bad timing in QF2)!
YUKI finally scored some WDC points with a nice P7 in the race.
This means both Red Bull drivers ran with the same RB21 setup at COTA.

Can't wait to see what happens next race weekend in Mexico (!)

Also begs the question: does an aspiring WDC title candidate really need tape on the wall to assist him positioning his car on the start grid ? Pinnacle of motor sport best driver of the world ?

Never been on the ring?
Just do it, it's loads of fun. Even if it's for one lap.

Just don't get in your head that you'll set a fast laptime or something like that, the first thing that'll happen is that you'll be overtaken by someone in an old ratty fiesta or so that is completely stripped on semi slicks. That said the first car you're overtaking might just as well be a ferrari or lamborghini
The difference in driver experience is huge there, nothing like a track day on a normal track so that takes a lot of consideration.
The whole atmosphere around it in the villages is also great. Go to a supermarket or so and see a group with 20 lotusses or so parked in front. Dead normal there. It (the whole region) just oozes motorsports and car fanatism. Much more that other big tracks (like Spa for example)
