They've always had the same or better performance as the exotics. You can go back decades and look at the car mags that call each generation an "exotic killer". The problem with this generation is instead of trying to he the "working man's exotic", they've adopted exotic level pricing for car that is still $60k base. The Z06 & ZR1 get the same crappy interior, same crappy materials, same iffy build quality as a base Stingray. And the kicker is GM charges Z06 & ZR1 buyers thousands more for the exact same options on the Stingray. Comparing the Stingray to an M2, to get the same options (HUD, carbon fiber interior trim, sport seats, homelink, adaptive suspension, etc.) will cost $25k more than the M2. That to me is crazy. But you have idiots get on waitlists and pay ADM to buy a new model Corvette when waiting a year or less would allow you to get one at a Discount. The value drops like crazy and has more so on this generation than any before it that I can remember. New Z06s can be purchased for $15k-$20k off, dealers are begging people to buy the ERay with some $26k-$30k off. Stingrays are at huge discounts. They still haven't solved the DCT issues, and that thing requires expensive service. If you don't follow the service time/mileage to a T, GM voids your warranty. Then lets talk about their crappy dealer service departments. Like I said above, techs can't even change the oil on these things. You really think they can properly service this $230k car - no way. |

That's just too fast. It doesn't even sound thrilling. That would be disorienting. We've reached that point, where it's just too much speed for a road car. I'll watch from the sideline and be impressed.
If you put your foot down, your brain and other organs would simply be trying to survive the thrust. Nope, not for me. Won't be long now, where road cars will approach top fuel dragster levels of acceleration: 0 to 60 mph in less than a second. ![]() |

I commend GM for building an ICE vehicle that can outrun the fastest EVs and likely will tear up the Ring all the while offering a "reliable" vehicle. With that said, this level of power is completely unnecessary and the car is likely to be a bore on the street as you can never go full throttle or even moderate throttle without being at arrest me levels of acceleration or speed. I can barely use my stock M2's power on the street and that thing only does lower 12s on a good day. This Vette would make the M2 look like it's going backwards.

I don't think they're mutually exclusive – I think a car can be obtainable without jumping through hoops, but still pretty rare. I'd agree, though, that rarity ≠ exotic.
I don't think that any reasonable person would argue that a McLaren isn't an exotic. |

An exotic, IMO, is a class of car that combines a bunch of stuff - power, handling, materials, styling, cachet (created mainly by price), and reputation. Rarity, I'd argue, is more a function of the price than anything else. There's just not that many people who are willing or able to pay $250,000 for a car, so the rarity thing works itself out necessarily. |

Ferrari lamborghini Bugatti Pagani Rolls Bentley Aston Martin B Tier would be: Porsche, Koenigsegg, Lotus, Maserati, De Tomaso etc. Chevy will never be an exotic. Never. Neither will BMW.

By price. Like buying a Casio watch or a Patek. Most likely the guy buying the vette will be wearing the Casio and the dudes rocking 4/5/6 hundred grand cars are rocking the later. Kudos again for them making this missle. I hope to line up against one this summer at a Race Motive |

Ferrari isn't foreign to an Italian. Bugatti isn't foreign to the French. Porsche isn't foreign to Germans. None of this makes sense. In your world, a Hennessey Venom isn't an exotic apparently.

"Exotic" is just a made up label no different than "supercar" or "hypercar", "sportscar" or "musclecar". None of them have any agreed upon definition which makes them pointless.
Where I live I see Ferrari, Lamborghini, every model Porsche (including 2 GT3 today), McLaren, etc. every day. I drive by the Lambo dealership on my way to & from work. So to me, none of them are "exotic". |

Just give me exotic woman!! Fuck all this non-sense of what is or isn’t. Nothing worse than arguing about this when 99% will never have an exotic car unless they rent it

To the commenter on Hennessey, they're a tuning house. Not a vehicle manufacturer. They may have made the venom sure. The venom may count as an exotic car but Hennessey doesn't in my book All my opinion. You're entitled to your own.
