Fuel System Cleaning!!!
So I had my car at BMW the other day to get my alignment done. While my car was there, the service adviser called and recommended Fuel system cleaning. However, BMW wanted to charge me 160 dollars! . Luckily I work at jiffy lube and did the Fuel system cleaning myself!
We have two bottles, one additive that goes into the gas tank and another (throttle body cleaner) that goes through the vacuum line. On the drive home from work, I definitely noticed better throttle response and even better MPG's. I'll be making a long trip in the next week so i'll really find out how much it will effect the MPG's.

$160 is a rip. I assume its something similar to seafoam? What vacuum line are you using in the picture above?

it looks like the connector that is in front of the airbox. if you've installed dci's or removed the airbox for any reason, it's the connector that you pinch and release, it has the hard line that runs around the airbox

You will probably not be able to get it though since he used what he had at the Jiffy Lube and will not be available directly to consumers. I hope that is not the case though. I have a question for the OP on a side note: Is the product used safe for direct injection? |

I've used Seafoam for years. I actually learned about it when I worked at Ford. It's safe, but if you seafoam an older car with leaks that went undiscovered because of gunk, it will clear the gunk and release the leak. I seafoam cars every 25,000 miles - and also use Redline SI-1 (Amazon.com) before every oil change (6000 miles).

I am a big fan of seafoam, I've seen it work. My dad had a little nisssan work truck and it was beat up no injection cleaning for 12 yrs. We used one can directly and oh my god the truck felt like it was brand new as far as throttle response. |
