ETS FMIC Install & PICS!!!! (56k Death)
Thanks ETS for the group deal. So far it appears to be helping, cant really tell from just driving around. Living in Florida, I figure it will help year round. Top of 3rd and 4th gear feel stronger (don't get the falling off effect anymore). I'll give JB3 a few days to adapt. Very pleased with the install, went in perfect, very VERY tight fit. The new intercooler is much heavier (didnt expect that) too.
I was lucky enough to have a close friend who works as a service tech at a local name brand dealership..... and yes I brought my car there to use the lifts.... with his help.... in A/C....and air tools...for free... etc... The following is a compilation of pictures of the install of my FMIC. I enjoy watching others post pictures, so its only fair that I take the time to do this too. Hope you have fast internet, more pictures are better than less. Enjoy! Nikon D90, 18-200 f3.5-5.6 VR Lens, Camera (Crap) Flash Getting set up Look what came in my box! A Tech! Haha The packing was very thought out, making sure the 999,999,999 popcorns that came in the box didnt make it into the FMIC. Ready to get started. Me taking down the under-trays Exposed underbody and Stock FMIC Get out of there! Ugghh I'm gonna be sick! Glad thats out...I'm surprised how small many components of our cars are. **** YOU PEICE OF ******* ****!!!!!! Stock vs ETS Taking down some restrictive piping left in the engine bay (Driver Side) Replaced with proper tubing and clamps Now the passenger side. We've all heard how hard it is to get this permanent bracket off the piping..... Problem solved. Wont be using that again. Came right off. Now, I have a OCC, so not sure if this was from I didn't have one, or mine isn't working perfectly. I was kind of surprised to see this oil. Stock Piping vs ETS What the ****? Aight, got'ya now. Backdoor tools Umm... stop doing that. WARNING: The following material may not be suited for children. Mmmm, 'bout time Lubing the FMIC made it easier to mount into the car. Now this was me being picky. I found on bilateral sides, there was a small tab of plastic pressing on the front bottom of the FMIC. Used a box cutter to cut them off. Fixed Tighten all clamps! DONE! "Parts that make my car worse" Parts Thanks for Looking!!! .

Very nice dude! What are the power gains from a FMIC upgrade? This kind of mod is something a dealer would frown on right? Say, for instance, a HPFP replacement?
Also, kinda OT, what angel eyes are you running? |
