Blizzard 2010

RWD + Blizzaks = .
Drove with traction control off the whole time. Car was very easy to control and I didn't get stuck even once. Can't say the same for a person in quattro equipped A4 with lame NO seasons.

Sorry for Iphone quality pix.

you didn't have clearance issues? I did....I almost got stuck on one road even with my blizzaks....the road had too much snow. and was unplowed. I was able to slowly pull out with my wheels spinning ridiculously fast lol

The amount of snow received is nothing compared to where I grew up and learned how to drive. Sometimes you need spin to keep moving. I didn't have clearance issue in soft snow, but few day later when everything froze it was more problematic but nothing bucking back and forth didn't solve. The car did much better in the deep stuff than I expected. Jeep Cheeroke I learned to drive on was much more difficult and easier to spin out in 2WD, but in 4Lo it was like a tank plowing thru 2+ feet of snow like it wasn't even there.

are you guys getting blizzaks on steel wheels, and if so buying at tirerack and installing yourself, or buying locally through a tire place, or what? I'm through enough of this season I probably won't bother, but seeing 70" or so this season so far, next year I want to be more ready w/ my 135i!

turning the tc off is almost a necessity in the snow I have found, otherwise the throttle gets cut out and you dont go anywhere... plus traction-less is much more fun... anyone share my exp?

I agree with you on slow speed under 30mph I kept it TC completely off. I had a bit of a scare on highway when switching lanes. Long story short I got the car sideway at 50mph+ Ever since then when entering highway TC goes to DTC mode as it is very easy to get into trouble, and harder to recover at those speeds. Anyway Blizzaks WS60 performed flawlessly, 100% recommend to anyone and will buy a new set once these are worn down. Hopefully won't be for another 2+ years.

I had four WS-50s on my Focus ST (still have the car as a winter warrior), and they did well for four winter seasons, though last winter, I was starting to doubt them.

I got WS-60s back in December, and they are holding up the Blizzak tradition. It's a great tire. With Blizzaks on all four corners, I get through most anything. If I can't get through it, then no one should be out.

Yeah they are a great winter tire, we get a fair amount of snow out here and my 128i has performed flawlessly.

Not sure if this had been answered yet, but you can't get steel wheels to fit over the 135i brakes.... but if you have a 128, then you are good to go. That could be why you are hearing about 1ers with steel wheels.

I kind of dig this look... almost a 135GT!

steel wheels dont fit the 1er, our brakes are too big.

Most people buy a set of 17" wheels and mount snows on em. Some of us, like Lubo and I mount 18" winters on the stock wheels.

@Tumo, thats nothing.
